Puffery !

Image
Your article should not engage in puffery. Puffery is when an article attempts to exaggerate the notability of its subject. Puffery only serves to reduce the neutrality of the article and so it should be avoided. The most common type of puffery is the use of peacock terms . This was from Wikipedia - which I must admit I have not come across before - trying to help Dad write an article about a Hypnotist we used to work for ! This brilliant term which I now intend to use can be very much utilized in the area's that I have an interest in, photography, archeology, heritage and local history , parapsychology, ufology. All the above have *members* that do this in rather large amounts, infamous might be another rather good word here as well ! For the moment no names will be mentioned - I would need an entire day to cover ufology at least !

After the war finishes the site would never be reopened for flying. The famous pilot, Amy Johnson, is also known to have flown from this site. In 1945 - After the airport closes, Blackpool Borough Council takes over the site and the buildings become a storage facility for the council, including the illuminations and the promenade deckchairs.  1953 - The Royal Lancashire Show, England 's oldest county agricultural show settles on the Stanley Park Aerodrome site in this year and remains unt

Friends of Layton Cemetery   https://www.facebook.com/Friends-of-Layton-Cemetery-917361268373081/?fref=ts Run tours and will be doing this more next year in 2017 , it seems that over the next few years that funding will be cut and the cemetery will have to raise funds to maintain the grounds. Lots of local history here and lots to learn However what does made me sad are these graves here....moved from the centre of town at St John's church which in previous years was pedestrianized , and now lie at the back, in the corner, some even broken....   Lets take some action now....save your heritage and click the link at the top for more details - thank you - Juliette
